FULL MOUTH CONCEPTS

ALL ON 4 DENTAL IMPLANTS

All-On-4 concept is an affordable alternative to other full mouth implant options. In this concept, a full mouth denture or a fixed bridge is supported with 4 implants placed in the jawbone. All-on-4 concept also allows dentists and patients to avoid advanced implant procedures such as sinus floor lifting, inferior alveolar nerve lateralisation and bone expansion osteotomy.

The prosthetic options for All On 4 implants concept include acrylic dentures and bridge. Even though acrylic dentures over implants are much more affordable than bridge, they are not as comfortable, strong, hygienic and aesthetic. In Europe Dental Clinics Turkey, we provide acrylic dentures as a temporary solution at no extra cost to our patients for the waiting period.

Prosthetics that are suitable with All On 4 Concept:

  • Acrylic Denture
  • Peek Denture
  • Porcelain-Metal Bridge

Even though Porcelain-Zirconia crowns are highly aesthetic, they are not the best option for All On 4 implants because of the long spaces between the implants. All On 6 or All On 8 dental implants would be more suitable for Zirconia – Porcelain bridgework.

1st Day: 4 Implants are placed during the surgery and impression taken to be sent to the dental lab. The total precedure takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the experience of the dentist and the requirement of advanced implant procedures.

2nd Day: Your denture will be ready on the next day morning. Once we attach them to your dental implants, you are ready to go.

PORCELAIN-METAL BRIDGE SUPPORTED BY ALL-ON-4 IMPLANTS

We complete All On 4 dental implants with Porcelain-Metal bridge in 2 visits ideally. However, it is possible to finish the procedure in a single visit of 10 days as well. The following appointment sequence is for the conventional technique of 2 visits.

1st Visit: Our dentists place the implants in the first appointment and take the impressions which will be transferred to the dental laboratory for temporary denture. On the next day of the surgery, we fix the temporary dentures to your implants. We recommend our patients to stay for an extra day for last checks before they go back to their country.

2nd Visit: After 3 months of healing period, the second visit for the permanent bridgework begins. This visit requires 5 or 6 days and does not involve any surgical procedure. Our dentists will make necessary adjustments such as replacing the abutments or multi-units with better fitting ones. In the first day, your dentist takes an impression of your teeth and transfers to our in-house dental laboratory. After this, you will have 3 appointments within 4 days with your dentist to check the fitting and aesthetics of the bridgework at different stages of the preparation. W

HOW TO MAINTAIN ORAL HYGIENE WITH ALL ON 4 DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Unlike natural teeth, all on 4 supported prosthetics has no gaps in-between each tooth.  Moreover, depending on the design of the prosthetics, it can be hard to reach to the areas below the denture / bridge with a toothbrush.  Therefore, maintaining oral hygiene for All On 4 supported dentures and bridges can be a bit challenging. Gingival health is crucial for the life expectancy of dental implants. Since toothbrush is not very effective to clean the areas below an All On 4 supported prosthetics, we recommend our patients to use water floss. There are various brands available on the market with special tips designed for implant supported bridges and dentures. We have experienced that using water floss devices greatly increases the implant survivability.

Ideally, you should visit your dentist once a year to clean and check if everything is okay with the All On Four implants. We understand that when you have your implants in a different country, it will not be very practical to go there every month for follow up appointments. In this case, water-flossing under the bridge and denture will be of great help to clean under the dentures.

ALL ON 4 IMPLANT PROCEDURE AFTER THE NEW NORMAL

All On Four Implant surgery is not an aerosol producing procedure. There is no need for a fast dental hand-piece that produces large amount of aerosols. Therefore, it is less risky for spreading Covid-19 compared to other dental procedures. Our dentists wear adequate PPE for All On Four procedures. Moreover, we placed UV lights to all the treatment rooms in our clinic which we activate for 30 minutes after each patient.
